Motorola CLIQ Now Available Online!

As a reminder, you should probably know that you can now get your hands on the Motorola CLIQ if you’re an existing T-Mobile customer. If you’re not then you’re going to have to wait a couple more days, November 2, because that’s when you’ll be getting your chance. Anyways, this handset comes with Android and is layered with their MOTOBLUR that has deep social integration.

You can now get this handset here for $199.99 USD on a 2-year contract. It was expected that only pre-orders would be taken today, but it appears for all the world that T-Mobile is ready to start shipping the CLIQ to its loyal customers ahead of the November 2nd full release date .

Android Motorola Droid or Sholes

The Motorola Sholes, or Motorola Droid is you wish, hasn’t seen many good photos since we heard about the handset, but now the guys over at the BGR have been sent in a couple of pictures of the Motorola Sholes/Droid.

Apparently the images aren’t full resolution, but an image is better than no image right? A different source has apparently informed them that the Motorola Sholes/Droid ROM moves at “break neck speeds” and gets new builds daily.

Hopefully sooner or later there will be further better images of the Motorola Sholes/Droid hit the net waves, until then this will have to suffice.

The HTC Tattoo has arrived on the shores of the UK and will begin shipping tomorrow. The second SIM FREE unlocked Android device from HTC in the UK, the Tattoo, is a solid and reliable smartphone. With a 2.8” display, it is slightly smaller than many of the other devices on offer today, but brings with it increased portability, with no compromises in performance and specification.

Google Redesignes Mobile Gmail for Android and iPhone

Google’s redesigned mobile Gmail site for iPhone and Android is live and it seems better than the original in every way: It’s faster, more app-like, and has an improved user interface.

It moves a lot faster between pages that don’t require fresh data because it uses database storage on the iPhone and Android’s built-in Google Gears implementation, which supposedly makes it work better on a slow connection besides giving it some offline powers. Search and loading emails from the main screen isn’t necessarily quicker, but picking contacts and opening particular messages within a thread—yes, threaded conversations work just like real Gmail now—is definitely quicker. You can also get to other Google apps (like your calendar, which is improved now too) in a snap.

It feels more like an app with the sunburst style progress spinner anytime you need to load stuff, and a button for “load more messages” at the bottom that responds nearly instantly, rather than having to load a whole new web page. Search is no longer shoved at the bottom of the window, there’s an actual button for it on top (which is great since the reason I fired up the Gmail site was for search).

There’s a “floaty bar” that follows you down as you scroll with functions like delete, archive and report spam. The new UI feels a bit more finger friendly, and it uses Gmail’s newer color scheme, with a grayer blue and more subtle colors that makes it more readable, too.
